The Department was founded in 1952 as the Department of repairs and the current name carries since 1994. This department covers issues of machinery, preventive care machines in operation, the doctrine of the durability and reliability of the machines, which cover an area of renewal theory of machines. Our main object is the subject of the Department of Quality, reliability and renewal of machinery, which is the general theoretical basis and starting point for several other subjects, dealing with operational machine care. These other objects are focused on both technical and technological issues and on issues of economic, environmental and logistical. Scientific research activity is mainly focused on issues of technical diagnostics and optimization of diagnostic procedures and algorithms, development of diagnostic methods, the methodology of diagnosis, optimization systems operating machine care to the logistical problems of maintenance of machines, on the issue of the reliability of machines to the optimal recovery tools and production equipment and computer support in all areas of care.
