Project name: Reducing the energy consumption of transport by upgrading the telematics system and introducing driver driving style assessment
Programme title: Ministry of Industry and Trade TRIO
Call number: 265000 - Manufacture of measuring, testing and navigation instruments, manufacture of timing instruments
Call title: 4th call for tenders under the TRIO programme
Project title: Reducing the energy intensity of transport by upgrading the telematics system and introducing driver driving style assessment
Project registration number: FV40214
Project description: The main objective of the project is to innovate a telematic system for tracking mobile machines with enhanced functions. The innovation consists of both hardware and software parts of the telematics system. The aim is to ensure that the telematics unit can receive operational parameters from mobile machines with a maximum frequency of 1 s and send these parameters to evaluate the driving style of the driver to a web and mobile application for early warning of the user/driver about positive or negative driving style of the driver. Furthermore, the upgraded telematics unit will also serve as a "vehicle black box", i.e. all data will be recorded in the memory of the telematics unit and sent to the web and mobile application. Evaluating the driving style of the driver will have an impact on reducing accidents (road safety) and wear and tear on the machines, will promote the economically sustainable use of the machines and is expected to save drivers' administration.
