Annotation: The objectives of the project can therefore be summarised in two "themes", the first is an innovative procedure for creating a digital twin in DEM-FEM and the second theme is its use for innovative agricultural machine design. In the first theme, it is essential to fully develop a DEM soil material model that incorporates the ability to change the mechanical properties of particles and their interactions with each other. To develop a DEM soil material model with plant residues (i.e. a combination of more than 2 different particle shapes), the shape and mechanical properties of the plant residues will also be developed using 3D scanning technology and subsequent modification of this digital model for use in a DEM application.
